The girls brainstormed the different ways that violence can present itself; speaking about physical, verbal, emotional and sexual violence. We did two activities demonstrating some of the barriers to communication and talked about ways to overcome them. Later they depicted peace and conflict through skits.
Many of the girls had a good (if unfortunate) understanding of some of disadvantages that face women today, citing unequal pay, differences in sports and violence in intimate relationships.

- December 6--National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women; Anniversary of the Montreal Massacre
- December 10--International Human Rights Day, anniversary of Universal Declaration of Human Rights
